Helping to give Paving the Way its own identity and website
This is a wonderful joint project from the Challenging Behaviour Foundation and the Council for Disabled Children. It is an initiative to support children with extraordinary needs and their families and friends.
Paving the Way is an ongoing project which was yet to have its own site to promote its findings and offer its specific resources. So far only mentioned on the partner sites, our task was to give the project its new online home, to create a friendly and engaging design for a fresh new site. The main focus was on highlighting the project’s necessity and offer support via an extensive file archive for downloads of different content and media types.
- design a new identity for the project, linked to partner organisations
- collaboration on planning of content structure and accessibility aspects
- design for interaction and web page layouts, including resource library
- production of custom WordPress theme with required admin functions
- usability testing & launch on final domain
Prisca really engaged with our vision. She understood what Paving the Way was all about, and displayed a passion and enthusiasm for the website and its content that went well beyond what we would have expected from any designer.Jacqui Shurlock, project manager
Guided by the project team's insight into their target group, we collaborated on planning for the new identity, content structure for the site and confirmed specific needs for accessibility.
The workload for this new website was substantial on all fronts and we worked in phases to agreed milestones to keep the project on track. Regular communication meant quick responses to feedback and swift progress throughout.
Upon completion, we created additions admin users and added the manual. The site was launched with the perfect domain name, pavingtheway.works, clearly declaring the site's mission.
